[ It'd just be nice to get away from everyone and be alone with his lover for a while, somewhere high up where most people can't get to. The thought makes him lean on Vanitas, and he has to shift a little so he can put his head on the other's shoulder. ]
And this time, we won't need to fall out of a ship. There are some nice rooftops aside from Hotel Chouchou's that we can sit on, I know of a few.
[It's a thought shared by Vanitas, that once in a while, he'd like to be somewhere where the rest of the world can just melt away, leaving the two of them alone with each other and their thoughts. Idly, a hand comes up to pet through Noé's hair.]
That would be preferable, heh. Though if you wanted, we could sneak up to the top of the La Tour Soleil and do our stargazing from there. Nothing like a little trespassing to get the blood flowing.
[ Vanitas' hand in his hair paired with the idea of them truly spending an evening alone together, prompts Noé to suggest something. He'd been willing to save this for a rainy day, but: ]
How about we do that after this? When we're done here tonight, I'll take you there...or somewhere else that's just as nice. We can stay there for a while, just the two of us.
[The offer is well-received, causing the faintest of blushes to color Vanitas' cheeks as he regards the other with a knowing grin. Feeling rather playful, he gives Noé a light nudge.]
Why, ma moitié, are you asking me out on a date? Courting me like a true gentleman? I hope I get flowers at the end.
[He's so teasing. He expects nothing but smiles from his lover.]
[Round and round they go... Where Vanitas' heart stops, nobody knows. Though most likely in Noé's hands, from the looks of it. He blushes deeply, averting his gaze at being taken so seriously.]
T-That won't be necessary... What we have is just fine...!
[...okay. Maybe a tiny, tiiiiiny part of him wants to be wooed like that. Like hell he's admitting it, though. His stomach might flip-flop like mad if he did.]
[ Ah? He wasn't expecting Vanitas to get so flustered. ]
If you're sure... But if you'd like me to do things more properly, I don't mind. You deserve it if that's what you'd like.
[ Noé, earnest as always. He gently tightens his hold on Vanitas' hand, caught somewhere between wanting to make his intentions known but also not wanting him to feel so embarrassed. ]
[That alone probably says a lot despite his protests. If it was really and truly no big deal, then he likely wouldn't have been bothered by the notion.]
I'm not a woman. I don't need flowers and sweets and silly trinkets to be wooed.
[Even though now he can't quite meet his lover's eyes, he clings tight to Noé's hand, face burning bright. There's still a long ways for him to go before he can fully admit to all his feelings. They're just getting started, after all. And hopefully will have a long, long time to go yet.]
[ He'll drop it, because the way he sees it, it's not something Vanitas really wants to talk about. So he gently rubs the back of the other's hand and falls quiet for a moment, but decides to break the awkward silence: ]
Then we'll go to the rooftop after this and sit together. It'll be really nice.
[It's not that he doesn't want to talk about it so much as it's just... awkward. Some things are just easier done than said. But he appreciates the tender rubbing, allowing his other hand to find Noé's leg and pet over it.]
I'd like that. I... also enjoy it when you carry me. Properly! Not like a sack of potatoes.
Don't worry, I'm not carrying you like that. ... This time.
[ Noé smiles and gives him a little nudge. He can't promise the potato sack won't happen again. As a preemptive apology, he gives Vanitas a cheek kiss. ]
[Name-calling aside, he smiles too, cheeks continuing to warm at the sweet kiss upon his face. Then he's seeking out Noé's lips with his own, to savor a proper one while they remain still high up in the air. It's kind of romantic...]
[ He accepts the kiss easily and pulls Vanitas closer, keeping the kiss sweet until they pull away. He gives Vanitas one more after that, and places a hand on the other's cheek; when he pulls away, he brings them forehead to forehead and gazes into Vanitas' eyes. ]
[All the sweet gestures combine to make Vanitas feel so damn loved, to the point that a few weeks ago he likely would've been so overwhelmed that he'd go mute or turn into a stuttering mess.
Thankfully, Noé's gradual exposure therapy has been working wonders, leaving Vanitas feelings less embarrassed than he would've been. He nuzzles against his partner with a content sigh.]
Of course. I wouldn't put up with it if you weren't.
[ The gradual exposure therapy seems to be paying off, and Vanitas seems a lot more receptive to Noé's brand of affection. He's still trying to take it easy, figuring out where the line is with Vanitas so as to not coddle him, but he'd still like to respect the other's boundaries. This is good, though, and as the ferris wheel comes back down, he escorts his lover out of the car. ]
Is there anything else you'd like to do while we're here?
[It's still a lot, and sometimes too much for him some days, but Vanitas is getting there, steadily. He knows it's not something that will happen overnight, but it's still frustrating sometimes to find himself getting flustered over silly things that the average person would handle with grace. Once they leave the wheel, he answers playfully, almost teasingly:]
[ And that's the one he chooses once they get there. The horse is small for him, which is unsurprising, but he still manages to get situated on it anyway. ]
[It's gonna get even smaller, because Vanitas climbs right aboard and worms his way into the space between the pole and Noé, with his back pressed against the vampire's chest.]
No matter. It's not as though we need to ride it for real. We're not going on a steeplechase.
[ It is a snug fit for Noé, that's for sure, but he likes having Vanitas' back against him like this. It'd be really comfortable if not for the fact that Noé is a giant. ]
Fair enough. As long as we don't fall off of this or anything, I'll be fine.
Mhm, of course. This is hardly a fall compared to the airship.
[ He says as the carousel starts to turn, and discreetly, he places his chin on top of Vanitas' head. Still not trying to make a big show out of their relationship, but he can't resist how comfortable his lover is like this. ]

I want to ride the merry-go-round. Together.
[Because it's silly and so is he at times.]
no subject
[ Noé won't even bother protesting. He's already tugging Vanitas towards it, urging him to follow. ]
What made you want to give it a try?
no subject
[He expected at least a little protest? Or more confusion? But, well, it's fine. So he allows himself to be dragged along, lips quirked up.]
I thought you would like it. You've never been on one, right?
no subject
[ And, well, the merry-go-round was effectively ruined for him by Mikhail, so again. New memories! Those are always nice. ]
And no, I haven't. This is my first time trying everything here, really. Have you?
no subject
[Thankfully they've got a new one, if smaller, for them to ride on.]
Once or twice. Years ago.
[Back when his father was still alive and they were traveling with his mother's troupe.]
What animal do you want to ride?
no subject
[ And that's the one he chooses once they get there. The horse is small for him, which is unsurprising, but he still manages to get situated on it anyway. ]
I think I'm too tall for this.

You know, Vanitas? You're actually really warm.
